At Abbey Road Studios in London, recording sessions for Back To The Egg continue. A group of guest musicians arrive to record "Rockestra Theme". Present are Hank Marvin (The Shadows), Pete Townshend (The Who), David Gilmour (Pink FLoyd), John Bonham and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Ronnie Lane and Kenny Jones (The [Small] Faces), Tony Ashton (Ashton), Gardener and Dyke, Speedy Acquaye, Tony Carr, Ray Cooper, Morris Pert, Howie Casey, Tony Dorsey, Steve Howard and Thaddeus Richard. A film crew captures the event.

In the US, Yoko parts company with Geffen Records and signs with Polygram Records, taking with her the leftover tracks from the Double Fantasy sessions.

In the UK, BBC Radio One repeats clips from John and Yoko's interview with Andy Peebles from December 1980 and George's appearance on "Roundtable" from February 1979.
On BBC Radio Two, the documentary "Yesterday Forever" is transmitted, featuring a Beatles profile and the various artists that have done cover versions of Paul's famous song.

Paul performs in concert at Maimarkthalle, Mannheim, Germany ("The New World Tour").
In Europe, the TV station Sky One airs George's animated appearance on the US show "The Simpsons".
1995
In the UK, the "Sun" prints an exclusive color photo of Paul, George and Ringo, posing together at Apple's headquarters in London. Subtitled "Got Back", it covers almost the entire front page. This is the first time the three have been photographed together since Ringo's wedding to Barbara Bach in 1981.
1998
BBC Radio Two broadcasts a special 40th anniversary tribute to the program "Saturday Club", with the August 24, 1963 appearance of the Beatles perfoming "Twist And Shout".
1999

In Los Angeles, the exhibition "The Early Beatles Collection," featuring images taken by Astrid Kirchherr, runs at the Leica Gallery. Images include pictures taken during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" in 1964 for Stern Magazine, as well as some of the images she took of the musicians during their Hamburg, Germany, period in 1960.
The exhibit Linda McCartney retrospective is displayed at the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna, Austria. The new exhibition is the first comprehensive retrospective of Linda McCartney’s work featuring 190 of her iconic photographs.
