John Lennon / Yoko Ono interview recording and photographs with copyright, Denmark January 1970

An interview by four Danish School boys for their school newspaper recorded during a press conference given by John and Yoko at the New Experimental College in Skyum Bjerge on Monday 5th January during their stay in Denmark which was ostensibly to secure the custody of Yoko's daughter Kyoko (Kyoko is also present at the interview). The recording actually takes place after the 'official' conference (due to bad weather several journalists including the boys were late for the conference proper). John and Yoko discuss their creative viewpoint, Yoko's conceptual art and their way of film directing (from bed), their Peace campaign, John Lennon's appearance (and his hair - at length about it's length), their macrobiotic diet and despite the fact that Beatles had by then (unofficially) broken up John also expresses his hope that the Beatles will play a Peace concert in the coming year as the same time stating he felt it was important they smash that image [of the Beatles] and be seen as individual artists and later explains his frustration with playing concerts and still singing Hard Day's Night. They then proceed to fulfill the Danish custom of dancing around the Christmas tree and sing a traditional Danish Christmas carol (John not knowing the words throws in a few nonsense verses) and John finally play's Radio Peace and Give Peace a Chance on the guitar, accompanied by Yoko and an enthusiastic Kyoko. The lot also includes a selection of candid colour photographs taken during the recording of John, Yoko and Kyoko. All sold with copyright.
