Смешанные эмоции: с одной стороны понятно, что постаревшие они не повторят себя молодых, а с другой.... ну порепетировали бы подольше хотя бы одну песню, простенькую какую-нить (напр. "Does Your Mother Know", а что? выглядело бы это весьма прикольно!), ну и спели бы её по случаю за тот же billion.
Но нет, Бьорн в который раз обламывает в своих сокровенных желаниях миллионы страждущих ИХ живого выступления.....

Three Quarters Of An Abba Reunion

The 30th anniversary of Abba's Eurovision Song Contest win was marked with somewhat of a reunion. Only one thing was missing - Agnetha.

Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were on stage together last night (Apr.6) in London to not only mark their 30th anniversary win but the 5th anniversary of the stage show Mama Mia.

It was expected a few weeks back to Agnetha would join her former partners at the event but late last week, the reclusive singer went back into hiding and refused to leave Sweden. Promotional plans for her new album, including a spot on Parkinson, were cancelled.

An Abba reunion will never happen. The group has been previously offered $1 billion to reform but knocked it back. Moving forward, they will live through the music in the stage show. Mama Mia is expected to become the highest grossing stage musical in history. The show is expected to outlive the band. Abba was around for 10 years. Mama Mia could go on forever.

ABBA, Led Zeppelin studio closing

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- The sounds of ABBA, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones have bounced off its padded walls.

Now, Sweden's most famous recording studio, Polar Studios, must shut its doors because the owners can't pay the rent.

"It's a mistake being made right now," said Lennart Oestlund, part-owner and one of the studio's original sound engineers. "I see it as a museum of Swedish music history, especially ABBA."

The Swedish pop quartet's record label started the studio in 1978 and the group recorded its last three albums there. But the first big album recorded at Polar Studios was Led Zeppelin's "In Through the Out Door" in 1978.

Hundreds of bands and solo artists followed, including the Backstreet Boys, Genesis, the Beastie Boys, the Cardigans and Roxette -- making Polar Studios a hot spot on the international music scene.

Oestlund said he and studio co-owners Tomas and Marie Ledin pay $184,000 a year in rent to the housing cooperative that owns the building on Kungsholmen, one of many islands that make up Stockholm.

"It's almost double the market rent," he said, adding that attempts to bring payments down had failed. "Two-thirds of our revenue goes to rent."

Oestlund said the five-room studio would close in May and probably be turned into office space. He hasn't given up on music, though, and hopes to set up a new studio elsewhere.

"I'll keep a mixer board and some microphones and try to start a new operation on a smaller scale," he said.

Вокалистка группы "АББА" выпускает новый альбом

Спустя 30 лет после победы группы ABBA на конкурсе "Евровидения" бывшая участница коллектива Агнета Фальцког вернулась на музыкальную арену с новым сольным альбомом.
Эта блондинка была неотъемлемой частью шведского квартета, известного множеством популярных песен и распавшегося в 1982 году.

Загадочная Агнета Фальцког какое-то время после этого занималась сольной карьерой, хотя и с меньшим успехом, а затем ушла из музыки на 17 лет.

Альбом "My Colouring Book" 2004 года совсем не похож на музыку ABBA, однако он будет пользоваться большой популярностью среди поклонников группы и самой певицы.

Новая долгожданная работа 53-летней Агнеты Фальцког стало ее личной данью уважения музыкантам, оказавшим на нее значительное влияние в прошлом.

Альбом состоит из новых версий старых песен таких исполнителей как Силла Блэк, Брайан Хайлэнд и Фрэнк Синатра.

Отсутствие нового материала позволило Фальцког остаться такой же загадочной и неуловимой, как и раньше, несмотря на годы уединения.

Сингл "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind" - это драматическая, тонко написанная песня, отражающая старомодный подход к звукозаписи, которым пронизан весь альбом.

Интригующая Агнета Фальцког в очередной раз показала свою любовь к музыкальной мелодраме 60-х годов, исполнив песню "A Fool Am I" - старую популярную композицию, украшенную звуками оркестра.

Настроение альбома повышают песни "Love Me With All Your Heart" и "When You Walk In The Room".

А песня "Fly Me To The Moon" в исполнении Агнеты Фальцког звучит, как легкая босса нова с примесями музыки кабаре. В данном случае Агнета, пожалуй, немного перестаралась.

Лучше всего ее голос звучит в трогательной балладе "Sometimes When I'm Dreaming", слова которой певица, может быть, поет от всего сердца.

Возвращение бывшей звезды группы ABBA происходит без проблем, ведь эта музыка в первую очередь адресована публике с более зрелыми музыкальными вкусами.

Вся пластинка записана весьма качественно, однако звучит она слишком старомодно и гораздо менее новаторски, чем в свое время звучала ABBA.

Поклонники группы не услышат на этом альбоме практически ничего, что бы напоминало звуки той золотой поры, за исключением странным образом драматизированной версии "The Winner Takes It All".

Вчера по Радио Швеции слушал обзорную передачу по "Книжке-раскраске" (новому альбому Агенеты) - очень-очень милый альбом, хотя отзывы родных швецких критиков не очень высокие. Голос у Агнеты замечательный, песни трогают, а это главное.

ABBA - OUR LAST VIDEO EVER was featured at an international EBU press conference held in Istanbul on Tuesday, 11 May. This film will be broadcast live during the Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Wednesday, May 12.

The EBU and Radical Media UK production agreed that this year’s Eurovision Song Contest would be an ideal launch platform for a world premiere of the film, celebrating the 30th anniversary of ABBA´s victory.

Speculation on an ABBA reunion has been widespread during the current 30th anniversary celebrations. The world’s ABBA fans and the international media have been presenting various theories about a comeback – one has been more incredible than the other. However, no-one could anticipate that the four ABBA members would actually reunite under the present circumstances - in the humorous film OUR LAST VIDEO EVER.

ABBA – OUR LAST VIDEO EVER is the film about four hopeful musicians in search of a record contract. They pay a visit to the boss of a big Record Company and his oily assistant, performing one hit after the other, cheered on by their manager. But things don’t really work out as planned when the boss reacts with “Thank you for the music – but no thank you. You’re not big enough!”

Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Frida look just like they did back then – or perhaps not, after all. Is memory playing tricks with us? Were they really this… small?

The film is a Radical Media UK production, directed by Calle Åstrand. Apart from the doll-size versions of Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Frida, the film is starring Rik Mayall, Robert Gustafson, Sissela Kyhle, Cecilia Frode, Loa Falkman, Micke Nyqvist and Per Svensson, along with a number of guest celebrities such as Cher.

Abba Get Funked

Abba are about to get an upgrade. One of Europe's biggest jazz names Nils Landgren is about to release 'Funky Abba', a collection of Abba tunes with a jazz and soul feel.

'Funky Abba' comes with the blessing of at least one Abba member. Benny Andersson is a close friend of Nils. 25 years ago, Nils played trombone on Abba's 'Voulez-Vous' and Nils asked Benny along to perform on the new version of "When All Is Said and Done'.

According to a statement from Nils "When I first asked Benny Andersson for his blessing to make an album titled Funky Abba' he just said: 'Is that possible?' I think yes' I replied. OK, do it!' Benny said with a smile and so ahead I went. We booked the scene of the crime for this recording. The great Polar Studio A where all the ABBA songs were recorded to get the right vibe from that old tribe. I tell you, it´s still in those walls: all that great stuff that was once produced in there".

Warner Music will release Funky Abba on July 2.

Abba star receives death threat

Abba star Agnetha Faltskog has been put under 24-hour guard after receiving a death threat.

Swedish police flew bodyguards to the singer's remote island home near Stockholm after she was sent a letter.

Manager Staffan Linde said: "Agnetha receives many letters every day but this one was different and serious."

Faltskog, who has been plagued by stalkers and is terrified of making public appearances, already has a live-in security team at her home, says The Sun.

The death threat is the latest in a bad run of events for the star.

In 2000 she had former lover Gert van der Graaf banned from going near her after they broke up and he started stalking her. And last month her home was struck by lightning.

Prince Charles visits Abba show

The Prince of Wales took his companion Camilla Parker Bowles to a royal gala performance of the musical Mamma Mia!

The hit show, which is celebrating five years in the West End, is based around Abba pop songs.

After the performance, which raised £100,000 for the Prince's Trust, Charles confessed he "knew every word".

The prince met the show's creator, Abba's Bjorn Ulvaeus, and one of the group's other stars, Anni-Frid Prinzessin Reuss.

Charles reportedly danced the night away on his 50th birthday to hits from Abba at a party at Highgrove.

Backstage, he told the cast: "I knew every single word. It certainly dates me."

Meanwhile Mrs Parker Bowles told them: "It's got what you call the feel-good-factor - you come away feeling good."

The prince officially reopened the Prince of Wales Theatre, which has undergone a 10-month £7.5m restoration by its owner Sir Cameron Mackintosh.

Mamma Mia! is currently playing in eight countries. It is estimated that 17m people worldwide have seen the show.

Since it premiered in the UK at London's Prince Edward Theatre more than 2,000 performances have been watched by over three million people, grossing in excess of £105m.

It includes Abba hits like Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me and Gimme Gimme Gimme.
