Ringo and Barbara join Paul and George Martin in Los Angeles at the Montserrat studios to assist in recordings.

The 1978 movie "The Last Waltz", featuring an appearance by Ringo during The Band's farewell concert in San Francisco in November 1976, is released in the UK on Warner Home Video.

In New York City, the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery runs in the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, at Lincoln Center. The library exhibition include tour memorabilia, historic film clips, video interviews with musicians, as well as interactive exhibits.
